Iritty

On the highway
We started our journey from Kochi early in the morning crossing across the beautiful misty backwaters of Ernakulam and it took us 10 hours to cover 280 kms. The ride was awesome and we enjoyed the food on the highway at Village Restaurant and Samovar restaurant both served a hearty delicious meal. We stay put in the hotel after arriving at Iritty as the journey was tiring due to the heat and winded our day with a early dinner and got a good night sleep.

We spent our day two at Irrity with our friend - Tony, who traveled from Kannur to accompany us for an exploration around the hills. We rode through the snaking hill road, which reminded us of home – Garo hills. Then we walked through rubber plantations, crossed a beautiful untrodden river whose bed was filled with pebbles and we fished too until we got hungry and headed to a today shop for awesome food and palm wine.

We left Iritty around 7 in the morning and rode uphill meandering through the scenic Bramhagiri hills. We halted for tea at Coorg and the ride across the valley was awesome and hit Mysore road around 10 am. The ride home was fascinating and an accomplishment we will cherish a lifetime.
