Smoked Fish or Natok gran
tomato stew is one of the most beautiful and delicious summer recipes from Garo
hills Meghalaya. The recipe is very simple, oil free and delicious. The stew is
mildly tangy and has a smokey flavour from the fish, which goes perfectly with
steamed rice.

INGREDIENTS
1. Smoked fish 4 to 5
2. Green chilies 4to 5 slit
3. Tomato 4 to 5 sliced
4. Onions 1 medium diced
5. Salt as per taste
6. Coriander leaves for garnishing
PREPARATION
1.
Take a pan, then add your sliced onions, tomatoes, slit green chilies and salt as per taste - stir, cover and cook it on a low flame until the tomatoes starts releasing its water and is cooked, which can take about 10 to 15 minutes and occasionally stir in between.

Now add 2 to 3 cups of water - stir, cover and bring it to a boil.

It’s time to add our smoked fish, either crumble or chop them into small bite size pieces then let it simmer for 5 minutes.
4.
Finally add your finely chopped coriander leaves for garnishing and turn off the heat after a minute.
