When it rains, people in India crave for chai(tea) and samosas, well I crave
for Chicken cutlet instead of samosa!! I have a deep connection with this
specific snack as I remember eating them since I was about six to seven years,
when my aunt would take me to this small restaurant in the evenings to have a
glimpse of her man…Oops to spill.
It is very easy provided
the meat is done, I like the chicken when shredded and like them little chewy
then being minced. You can add cottage cheese instead of chicken for a
vegetarian version.
INGREDIENTS:
· Boneless Chicken shredded
· Onions, finely chopped
· Green chilli, finely chopped
· Boiled potatoes
· Turmeric
· Cooking oil
· Salt to taste
· Bread crumbs
· Beaten egg
· Chicken masala powder
PREPARATION:
1.
First, mash your
boiled potato with a pinch of turmeric and salt and leave it aside.
2.
To make the
filling heat oil in a pan, add the onions, green chili and chicken fry them
with little turmeric, salt and chicken masala powder as required. Fry them in a
low flame for about 20mins.
3.
Make a ball with
the mashed potato mixture with the chicken filling inside.
4.
Dip these balls
into the beaten egg and roll them over the bread crumbs.
5.
Now in a deep
pan, fry them in oil on a medium flame. Stir after every 30seconds and ensure
to cook until golden brown on all sides.
Serve hot with ketchup,
chutney, salads and especially a cup of tea!!
