Steamed fish in banana leaf

 
Steamed fish North East Indian style
This wrapped fish dish is simple with simple ingredients smeared with in a mix, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed. You can take chunks of fish or a whole small fish. It is awesome juicy dish works well with salads. The best time to eat them during summers with no species. Looks awesome when served with each one opening own tiny wrap.

Ingredients for a Single Wrap
1.    Fish, large piece
2.    Green chilies 1 finely chopped
3.    Onions 1 small roughly chopped
4.    Turmeric a pinch
5.    Salt to taste
6.    Banana leaf about A4 sheet paper
7.    Lime juice
8.    Ginger julienne


Preparation
1. Take turmeric, onions, ginger, salt and the chilies and mix them together in a bowl.
2. Smear the fish chunks in the mix and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes.
3. Now take a banana leaf, wrap the fish with some of the mix
4. Place the wraps on top of the steamer. Steam the fish for a minimum of 15 minutes, depending on the size.
5. Once ready, squeeze some lime juice over it.
