Lemon chicken sesame |
For anyone who loves the
fragrance of fresh lime, this North East Indian style chicken Curry is a must try and basically,
the chicken is cooked with sesame seeds and spiked with fresh lemon juice and
leaves. The kaffir lime intoxicatingly aromatic and blends beautifully with the
chicken and earthy sesame seeds without overpowering each other. The predominant
flavor of the lime leaves distinguishes the dish and gives it an outstanding

INGREDIENTS
1.
Chicken 500 grams

Sesame seeds
paste 3 tablespoons
3.
Kaffir lime leaves
3 to 4 freshly plucked
4.
Lemon juice tablespoons
5.
Onions 1 large
finely chopped
6.
Garlic 1 teaspoon
crushed
7.
Ginger 1 inch
roughly pounded
8.
Cumin powder ½
teaspoon
9.
Turmeric powder ½
teaspoon
10.Red
chili powder 1 teaspoon
11.Salt
as per taste
12.Oil
4 tablespoons
PREPARATION
1.
First heat oil in
a pan, then add your finely chopped onions, ginger and garlic – fry them on a
low flame until the onions turn golden brown.

Add your chicken
pieces, salt, turmeric powder and cumin powder- stir them well and open cook it
for 5 minutes.

Now and your sesame
seeds paste and red chili powder – keep stir frying them until all the ingredients
are combined and the oil starts to separate, which should take about 15 to
20 mins on a low flame.

Add 1 cup of
water – stir, cover and cook it for 30 minutes occasionally stirring in
between.
5.
Then open the lid
and keep on simmer until let the water reduces into a thick gravy just enough to
coat the back of your ladle.
6.
Finally add your kaffir
lime leaves and lemon juice – give it quick stir then cover and the lid turn
off the stove. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes and your dish is ready to be
served.
