Crispy Tofu fry in Indian Spices

Crispy Tofu fry

Tofu or bean curd is made up of soya milk and it’s not Paneer or cottage cheese, that’s how most Indian brands packet reads as. I even like it raw with salads. This is a good to start for a basic recipe for tofu. Easy to cook and should be handled without putting too much pressure as it’s delicate. I did not add enough masala as I like it this way, however if it too bland for you, you may add some more ingredients like fennel seeds and cumin. You can always personalize the way you would want to choose your spices and vegetables. It really goes well with any chutney or sauce and salads.

INGREDIENTS
§  Tofu 50gm
§  100 ml oil
§  Salt as per taste
§  1tsp chickpea flour/ besan
§  Pinch of chili powder
§  1/4th tsp Garam masala

PREPARATION
1.    Chop the tofu into 1inch cubes.
2.    Make a batter of chickpea flour, salt, chili powder and Garam masala (5spice) in a bowl.
3.    Heat oil in a deep-frying pan meanwhile dip the tofu completely into the batter. Once the oil is hot, add your tofu into the pan and fry it for a minute turning on both sides.
